COVID-19 Update - March 25, 2020
On March 23rd we received the list of essential workplaces document as published by the Premier of Ontario outlining business activity that can continue in the province. In the document under # 13, 18, and 28, allowances are made for our sector to continue its' work:
(13) "Businesses that provide support and maintenance services, including urgent repair, to maintain the safety, security, sanitations and essential operation of institutional, commercial industrial and residential properties and buildings, including property management services..."
(18) "Businesses that provide materials and services for the operation, maintenance and safety of transportation systems (road, transit, rail, air and marine) including delivery of maintenance services such as clearing snow..."
(28) "Construction work and services, including demolition services in the industrial, commercial, institutional and residential sectors."
With this news in mind, we have decided to continue to provide our design, landscape and maintenance services to our clients and to continue to provide employment to our staff. This is the latest information we have and we continue to monitor this situation closely. We recognize that if the government informs us we are to discontinue work, we will abide accordingly.
Protecting the safety of our people and clients remains our top priority. Our joint health and safety committee has issued a document for our staff of strict guidelines to follow to ensure we do not compromise the safety of our employees, our clients or the communities in which we serve.
At this time our office is closed to the public. However, our sales and design teams are working remotely and are available to discuss designs, estimates, and upcoming projects over the phone, email, or video conferencing with all of our clients.
We wish you all health and safety in this difficult time,
Adrian Bartels, President
